Rough underfoot, stained where the returns hit, a waterline you have stopped trying to scrub. Resurfacing is the single change that makes a twenty-year-old pool read as new, and pebble outlasts the plaster it replaces by a decade or more.

Sanitizer is holding
Between 1 and 3 ppm is where you want it. If you are dosing constantly to stay here, the chlorine is not the problem — look at the stabilizer.
Ideal 6.8–8.2
Right where it belongs
7.4 to 7.6 is the range where chlorine actually works and nothing is being dissolved. Most water problems that look like other problems are really a pH problem.
Ideal 80–120 ppm
Good buffer
80 to 120 ppm keeps pH from wandering. Get this right and pH mostly takes care of itself, which is the whole trick.
Ideal 30–80 ppm
Protected, not smothered
30 to 80 ppm shields chlorine from the sun without strangling it. In this climate the upper half of that band is the sensible place to sit.
Or stop doing this entirely.
You now know more about pool chemistry than most people who own one, which was the point. Whether you use it yourself or hand it to us is genuinely up to you — but the water does not take weeks off, and neither does the sun.

Straight answers
The questions we actually get.
- How much does weekly pool service cost?
- Most residential pools in the East Valley land between $139 and $185 a month with chemicals included. Size matters less than you would think; trees matter more. We quote after seeing it, and the number does not move afterward.
- Do I have to be home?
- No. We need gate access and a dog that has been told about us. You get a photo and chemistry report after each visit, so being home has no bearing on knowing what happened.
- My pool went green. Can it be saved without draining?
- Almost always, yes. Draining a pool in Arizona is a genuinely bad idea — an empty shell can lift out of saturated ground, and plaster does not enjoy the sun. We chemically recover first and drain only when the water is beyond it.
- Why does my chlorine disappear so fast?
- Usually stabilizer. Too little and the sun destroys chlorine within hours; too much and it locks the chlorine you have. There is a section further up this page that lets you work out which one you are dealing with.
- How long does resurfacing take?
- About a week of work and roughly three weeks start to finish, including the cure and the fill. We give you the real calendar, including the days nothing visible happens.
- Do you service saltwater pools?
- Yes, and we test the cell rather than assuming it is fine. Salt systems still need chemistry watched — the salt makes chlorine, it does not repeal the rules.
