The box everything else depends on
A 100 amp panel from 1978 is not dangerous because it is old. It is dangerous because someone has been adding to it for forty years. We replace it, permit it, label every circuit, and hand you a photograph of the inside.

The questions we actually get.
- My breaker keeps tripping. Can I just replace it?
- You can, and it is almost always the wrong move. A breaker trips because it is doing its job — reporting an overload, a short, or a ground fault somewhere downstream. Replacing it silences the messenger and leaves the fault. We find the fault.
- Do I really need a permit for this?
- For panel work, service changes, and new circuits, yes — and the inspection is the part that protects you, not us. When you sell the house, unpermitted electrical is the line item that stalls the closing.
- Why is your diagnostic not free?
- Because finding the problem is the skilled part. A free diagnostic is priced into the repair, which means the people who need the least work subsidize the people who need the most. We would rather charge $49 and waive it when you have the work done.
- Is my aluminum wiring dangerous?
- Aluminum branch wiring from the sixties and seventies is not a reason to panic, but it is a reason to have every connection pigtailed with a rated connector. The wire is rarely the problem. The terminations always are.
- Can you install a charger for a car I have not bought yet?
- Yes, and it is the right order to do it in. We run the load calculation and the circuit first, so you find out what your panel can support before you are standing in a showroom.
- What does a whole-home surge protector actually stop?
- Not lightning striking your roof. It stops the smaller, more common surges — grid switching, a monsoon hit two streets over — that quietly shorten the life of every board in every appliance you own.
