Web Design · New York, NY

New York web design that passes the accessibility test first.

New York leads the country in digital-accessibility lawsuits. A New York website should meet the standard before anyone asks, and then get on with selling.

UsableNet's 2026 midyear report on accessibility lawsuits put it in four words: “New York still leads.” More website-accessibility suits are filed here than anywhere else, and nothing in the ADA's public-accommodation rules exempts a small business. So accessibility on a New York site is not a feature. It is the floor. Labeled images, real headings, forms a screen reader can finish, contrast that survives a phone screen in daylight. All of it goes in with the first build, because retrofitting it later costs more and covers less. It is also simply good design: the structure that helps a screen reader helps a hurried commuter on a cracked phone.

Then there is the audience. Census figures put 47.7% of New Yorkers in homes where a language other than English is spoken. A Flushing restaurant or a Washington Heights law office with an English-only site is leaving part of its own block outside. Translated pages done properly, as separate URLs search engines can index, find those customers in the language they search in. A widget that machine-translates the menu does not.

The rest is discipline. Packages are fixed by page count: up to ten pages for $1,500, 11 to 20 for $2,250. Every one includes the writing, the SEO groundwork, lead capture and online booking, and most go live in seven to ten days. The pricing page lists every tier, and the web design service explains what goes into each.

What web design has to get right in New York

  • WCAG-conformant markup from day one: alt text, a real heading structure, and forms a screen reader can complete.
  • Indexable translated pages for the languages your customers actually speak, not an auto-translate widget.
  • A layout tested on a phone in daylight, since much of this city decides on the sidewalk.
  • Borough, neighborhood and cross streets written out, because that is how New Yorkers navigate.
  • Booking or quote capture on every page. A New York visitor will not go looking for it.

Web Design in New York: questions we hear.

Can an accessibility lawsuit really reach a small New York business?

The ADA's public-accommodation rules carry no small-business exemption, and New York sees more website-accessibility filings than anywhere else. We build to WCAG standards by default. For your own legal exposure, ask your attorney; we handle the code.

Do we need a separate website for each language?

No. One site with properly structured translated pages, each at its own URL, is cleaner to maintain and is how search engines expect multilingual sites to work. The translation itself is quoted flat before you commit.

Is there a New York premium on your pricing?

No. The tiers are the same everywhere and published on the pricing page: $1,500 for up to ten pages, rising by page count from there.
